Shrine donates a House
We
are happy to announce that the Infant Jesus Shrine in collaboration
with Diocese of Mangalore to the mark the Post-centenary Jubilee
celebration of Diocese donated a house to a poor family of St.
Francis Xavier Parish, Sampaje. The newly built house is a kilometer
away from the parish and is donated to Felix and Lucy Crasta who
have three children studying in the elementary school. read

Rev. Dr. Pius
James D'Souza - Episcopal Vicar for Religious
Rev.
Dr. Pius James D' Souza , the Superior of St. Joseph's Monastery,
Carmel Hill, Mangalore has been appointed as the Episcopal Vicar for
Religious by Most Rev. Aloysius Paul D' Souza, the Bishop of
Mangalore. He has taken the charge of this office on 24th June,
2012. This appointment shows the esteem and trust of the Bishop in
the person of Fr. Pius. We also deem it an honour bestowed on the
entire Province and especially to our presence in the Diocese of
Mangalore. Congratulations and best wishes to the New Episcopal
Vicar from all the Fathers, Brothers and Sisters of the Karnataka
Goa Province. We assure him our prayers, so that he may guide and
co-ordinate the activities of the religious in the Diocese of
Mangalore with courage, new vision and wisdom.

Deacons
Another reason to rejoice.
Three of our Brothers received the Order of Diaconate at the hands
of Rt. Rev. Dr. Aloysius P. D'Souza, Bishop of Mangalore on the eve
of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (June 14th). More than
two hours long religious ceremony was held at St. Joseph's Regional
Seminary Jeppu, Mangalore. Newly ordained Deacons are: Brs. Jayson

SOLEMN PROFESSIONS: take my life O
Lord!
The Karnataka Goa Province rejoices with eleven brothers who made
their final commitment in the Order. Bros. Nitesh Rodrigues, Cannio
Cardozo, Kaushik Parmar and Daniel Christain made their Solemn
Profession on the 27th of May 2012 at Mira Road, Mumbai. Most Rev.
Agnelo Gracias, the Auxiliary Bishop of Bombay, who is also the
Rector of Goregaon Seminary was gracious enough to be present and
offer the Eucharist. read

New Office of
Naman Ballok Jesu Monthly Inaugurated
The newly set office of Naman Ballok Jesu, Konkani monthly published
by the Infant Jesus Shrine was inaugurated on 14th June by Mrs.
Mavis Rodrigues, benefactress of the Magazine. Fr. Provincial
blessing the new office wished all success in the years to come. Fr.
George Santhumayor, visionary and the founder publisher of the
magazine breaking the Word of God recalled the initial stages of the
Magazine. read

Academy Valedictory Function
Certificates were distributed to the students who took
part in the Summer Camp organized by Carmel Music Academy at Infant
Jesus Shrine. 15 days long camp was started on 1st May. Children
were taught musical instruments like Piano, Guitar, Key-board etc. read

Three Deacons
from Ujire Ordained as Priests
St. Anthony’s parish, Ujire wore a festive look, as three
Deacons hailing from the village were raised to the Sacred Order of
Priesthood on 21st April, 2012. Two of them, namely Deacons Anil
Prashant Lobo and Pradeep Pinto belong to the Discalced Carmelite
Order and Deacon Santosh Naveen D’Souza is a member of the Order of
Capuchins. We should recall that Fr. Pradeep’s younger brother, Br.
Vinod Pinto had also joined the Carmelites, but was called by the
Lord when he was in the novitiate. read

Five more NEW
Priests to the Order
Five Deacons belonging to the Carmelite Order were ordained
priests. His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop
of Mangalore conferred the Holy Order of Priesthood on Deacons Arun
Sunil Lobo, Anil Veigas, Denzil Veigas, Rajesh D’Souza and Vijay
D’Costa on 19th April, 2010 at Infant Jesus Shrine, Mangalore. About
60 priests concelebrated at the Eucharist and a good number of
faithful took part in the Liturgy with devotion and rapture. read

First
Carmelite from LONDA Ordained
It is a day which has to be inscribed in the golden letters of
the Diocese of Belgaum. The first ever Carmelite was raised to the
Sacred Order of Priesthood by His Excellency Rt. Rev. Dr. Peter
Machado, Bishop of Belgaum on 18th April, 2012 at Holy Family
Church, Londa. There were around 40 Carmelite as well as Diocesan
Clergy to witness the Sacerdotal Consecration. Bishop in his Homily
invited the priests to be simple and humble after the heart of
Jesus. He congratulated the parents of the new Ordinandi for
sacrificing two of their sons to the service of the Church. At the
same time he had a word of appreciation for the Caremlites for the
yeomen service in the Diocese. read

Feast of Divine Mercy celebrated
The Feast of Divine Mercy was celebrated with devotion and gusto
at Infant Jesus Shrine Mangalore on 15th April, 2012. The festal
Eucharistic celebration which was held at 5 pm was preceded by an
hour long Eucharistic Adoration and recitation of Divine Mercy
Rosary. Faithful who had gathered in great number received the
Sacrament of Confession and there by experienced the unbounded mercy
of God. Rev. Fr. Andrew D�Souza, Parish Priest of Bondel presided
over the Mass. In his homily he stressed on the need of believing in
the unconditional love of God and his mercy towards humanity and he
appealed the faithful, to be merciful as the Almighty is to us.
Images of Divine Mercy were distributed to the faithful to be
venerated with devotion. read

Moments of Golden Jubilee
The Golden Jubilee of the Religious Profession of Rev. Dr.
Gregory D'Souza OCD was celebrated at Infant Jesus Shrine on 19th
March, 2012. The celebration began with the Eucharistic celebration
during which Fr. Nelson Pinto broke the Word of God throwing light
on St. Joseph. read
